Update: 30/03 (The Big Launch Catch-Up)

Hello adventurers!

It is has been an absolutely surreal and sleepless two weeks, since we finally opened the doors of our multiversal tavern to the world. There’s been a lot to get on top of, but I want to share what we are currently working on, some of the feedback we have received- and how we intend to respond to it.

Moving forward, this blog will be regularly updated along with the Kickstarter- eventually becoming our main source of news as our pledges are fulfilled and we phase the KS campaign page out.

The short version, things are happening. The slightly longer version:

General Updates

  • Retail Section: Our retail section is here! It’s still very much in it’s infancy, as we are looking to get more (thematic) shelving- but you can already find a great selection of independent TTRPGs, board games, and precious shiny dice.

  • More Board Games: Our second large shipment of games has finally arrived, expanding our selection even further! Bonus points to whoever plays Twilight Imperium first.

  • Wi-Fi: To our immense woe, we are still without Wi-Fi, but works have finally begun on putting the new exchange in. We are hoping it will be live next week, and will put an update out as soon as it is. Until then, we urge all players in the Archives/Guild Hall to bring physical or offline materials to run.

  • Service Bar: Our service bar downstairs will be opening as soon as the wi-fi is live! This will allow players to order food & drinks without confronting the pure unbridled horror of stairs.

  • Immersive Finishes: We are still working on putting additional immersive finishes in the Archives & Guild Hall, with the Guild Hall being a big focus over the next few weeks. The Archives have received even more books and curtains along the back wall to help provide additional sound dampening/ambience. The Guild Hall will be receiving banners soon, along with storage for army cases. From there, we plan to add much more furnishings and of course- swords.

  • Immersive Sound: Currently we are unable to set-up the full immersive sound system throughout the venue, as it is reliant on Wi-Fi, but this will change very soon! We’re hoping that our environmental sounds & ambiences will heighten immersion throughout the entire space- especially downstairs, which is eerily quiet at the moment.

  • Terrain: We are still working on producing & painting terrain for the wargaming tables, and will start introducing our first few sets over the coming weeks. This initial phase of terrain is aimed at Sci-Fi/Industrial settings such as WH40K, but we plan to produce a range of Fantasy/Historical terrain soon after that.

  • Digital Tabletops: We are looking to get Redbeard Woodworks, the fantastic creator of our TTRPG tables, to build these over the coming weeks- and will introduce them as a bonus add-on for parties in the Archives. More info to follow very soon.

  • Menu Updates: We have now finalized our core menu, which is available online! We have also printed them, but they’ve gotten lost in the post- which isn’t ideal really. They should be with us soon.

Player Feedback

  • Visibility in the Archives: Some GMs have mentioned that it is hard to see behind their screens due to the shadows cast by the overhead chandeliers. Players have also reported that it can be hard to see maps in the recessed center of the table. To address this, we will be adding additional mood & rim lighting to highlight these areas.

  • TTRPG Terrain Mats: GMs & Players have asked if we can provide a variety of terrain mats for TTRPG games, which we are now looking into.

  • Pre-Gen Character Sheets: As requested, we will be printing a vast repository of Level 3 and blank character sheets for quick use.

Aeturnum (GM Hire)

It has been amazing to see how many of you are excited to delve into our 5E world! There’s been a lot of work to do, getting the space up and running- but we are now turning out attention to GM hire. We’re currently feverishly writing content and building a fantastic team of house GMs to bring the Red Isles to life. It’s a lot of work, and we want to take the time to do it right: building a sustainable model that treats our lovely GMs right, and creates a safer environment for all players.

It’s still too early to commit to a date, but we’re hoping to open bookings for some introductory Pre-Season sessions in late April! It’s around this time that the Quest Board will be going up, with monthly quests that you can run yourself or book a GM for. There will be a lot more info regarding Aeturnum going live soon, covering our seasonal model, character creation, GM tools and much more.

Backer Update

This weekend will be the last chance for people to complete their backer surveys! After that we will be printing/shipping the last of our rewards, and ordering the Founders Monument for the Guild Hall.

Throughout April we will also be contacting people regarding premium rewards, such as Portraits & Custom Magical Items!

On April 1st, Free Kickstarter bookings for the Archives & Guild Hall will open. These will be available through our regular online booking system: please leave your Backer Number, Email and Name when you book otherwise your booking will be automatically canceled! Your backer number can be found on your pledge confirmation email or Kickstarter account (more info here).

Thanks again for all your support & patience!

-Luna
