INKYFINGERS: September Update I

Hello all! You may ask 'Inkyfingers, I've never actually seen you in the Tavern. How do you get your information?', to which I respond 'You whelp. You indigent naif. You know nothing of this antediluvian edifice. I'm always watching. I'm always here. You thought no one saw you pick your nose when everyone went to get drinks? I saw you. You will never find me, never see me. These walls are my sanctum, I know every nook, and every cranny... OK, bye!'

DUSKVEIL: A VAMPIRE MASQUERADE BALL

Shrouded from the waking world, the Courts of Duskveil are bound by an eternal ceremony. A precious few entrusted to reign over all who carry the Dark Gift, their savagery masked beneath games of opulence and excess.

Your invitation to join this ceremony comes laced with the most intoxicating blood, and the promise of a far greater power yet. Will you join those that conspire to steal the throne? Or relinquish these ambitions, drink deeply, and enjoy the many delights that the court has to offer...

This Halloween the shrouded halls of the Arcanist's Tavern will be transformed to play host to a decadent vampire ball. You are invited to adorn your finest wear, to join the immortal courts of Duskveil for an evening of intrigue and indulgence. With immersive actors, themed musical entertainment, food and cocktails, mystery trails, period ball dance classes, social deduction games, and more.

Tickets and more info can be found on our events page: arcaniststavern.uk/events.

A PARTICULARLY PECULIAR PREDICAMENT

Join us for a three-part D&D5E adventure, beginning at level 3, where you roll dice, uncover secrets, fight powerful foes and make a few friends along the way!

This adventure is ideal for less experienced players, but some familiarity and experience with the core rules of D&D 5e will be required to attend.

This is a multi-part event running on Tuesday 15th September, Tuesday 22nd September, and Tuesday 29th September. Your ticket will get you access to all sessions for the month. Tickets are available on our Events page now.

IT'S YOUR ROLE

Answer the call and become the hero in a madcap Dungeons & Dragons adventure, as a troupe of professional actors brings a chaotic fantasy world to life! But there’s a twist - one lucky audience member will be cast into the adventuring party live on stage.

Name NPCs, sound magical instruments, or take the leap and join the quest yourself. It's Your Role is a riotous night if improv and fantasy, where the audience shapes the story and you could be the hero who tips the scales of fate. As a very special treat, the show at the Tavern on Saturday 12 September will feature Roll from the Hip's Tom Midgley! Don't miss this chance to play a live game of D&D with the Hexmaster himself! Tickets are available on our site, and you can get 15% off with the code 'INITIATIVE' at checkout!

TABLE FEES

In line with our recent menu price increase, we will soon be increasing our table fees, GM hire prices, and ticketed event prices. We know this is never welcome news, but after more than two years without any kind of price increase to mitigate the cost of living, it is now imperative for us to ensure we can afford to stay open and put food on everyone's plates, customers and Tavernkeepers alike. We thank you all for your visits over the last 2.5 years, and hope we can continue to provide you with a welcoming place to play for many more.

VTTs

When booking a booth, please be sure to pay attention to your options, specifically with regards to VTTs. These VTTs need to be manually removed or added to the booths by at least two Tavernkeepers each time, and telling us you didn't book one but you'll need one, at 2pm on a Saturday, for example, when other bookings need to check in, is, quite frankly, inconsiderate to the Tavernkeepers and other patrons, and you may be refused. If you make it to the payment section of the booking without seeing mention of a VTT option - charged at £10 - then you may need to go back through the process to find what you may have missed.

TAVERN CLOSURE

We wanted to give you all a heads up that the Tavern will be closed on Monday 26 October, due to reasons best left unsaid. We will be operating business as usual from 2pm, Tuesday 27 October.

TAVERN QUIZ

The Tavern Quiz that would have been slated for Monday 28th September, will not be taking place, as Ringo will be out of the country, and the October quiz will be held one week early, on Monday 19 October, due to the closure of the Tavern mentioned above. The October quiz will be part of our Month of Horror, and will be about all things macabre, horrific and stomach-churning. You have been warned.

Until next time!

I.
