INKYFINGERS: NOVEMBER UPDATE II
Hello, all! My name is Inkyfingers,
STUDENT NIGHT - Starting this 7.00pm Thursday 21 November, and every second Thursday thereafter, we will be honouring those who are currently captured within the labyrinth of the tertiary education system. All students with valid ID will receive a 15% discount on Board Game Library Hire and Selected Drinks.
TAVERN QUIZ - Our inaugural Tavern Quiz will be held at 7.00pm, on Monday 25 November and subsequently every last Monday of the month. The Quiz is written and hosted by our in-house Quizobite, Ringo, covering a wide range of topics. Tickets are £3.50 which also covers your Board Game Library Hire fee, so if you want to game before, during, or after the quiz, you'd be more than welcome! Also, as a special bonus to the readers of my missives, Ringo has allowed me to tell you: the answer to question 5 is 'the skull of its mother'. Tickets for the quiz are available on the door, and through our website.
RIFT FAIRE - Introducing Rift Faire, a one-day TTRPG mini convention! On Sunday, 15 December, We'll have independent creators from across the TTRPG scene in the Guild Hall selling all manner of wares, and drop-in games in the Archives from house and guest GMs. This cozy Winter Edition will be perfect for those looking to snag some last minute gifts for the dice gremlins in their life!
STAFF PROFILE - She's been with us for a little while already, but we felt she deserves a formal introduction. Here's Siân, in her own words!
Hello! I’m Siân: a new face and Tavern Keeper here at the Arcanist's Tavern.
Raised in a family of storytellers, I’ve been immersed in a wide breadth of fantasy and folklore since I was small. My love for tales of world-saving deeds, whimsical landscapes, and a good dollop of horror has steered me well so far - after all, it’s led me to this haven of a venue!
I’ve always been drawn to the small things that we can miss when rushing about - whether it’s the local wildflowers I’m always trying to identify, the perfect brew time for a cup of tea, or the exact etymology of a character’s name whom I will play for all of one three-hour oneshot and then never play again.
My time at the table began, again, when I was very small. First with jigsaws spread out on rainy days, then to board games during Christmas holidays and even more rainy days, until I finally picked up 5E in early 2020. I never would have imagined I’d find this much joy in playing TTRPGs, but it’s a community and a craft that truly keeps on giving.
So whether you’re here to try something completely new, share in some tabletop shenanigans with friends, or simply enjoy the company of kindred spirits, I’m excited to welcome you all soon (after all, I am a sucker for a support class.)
Until next time, adventurers!
I.
